The userman.pdf boost-build documentation is outdated

Thomas Klimpel-2
The pages
http://www.boost.org/boost-build2 and
http://www.boost.org/doc/tools/build
both offer links to documentation under "Quick Access".

The item
* Documentation (PDF)
offers two links. "Documentation" points to an extensive html documentation. "PDF" point to userman.pdf, that seems to correspond to a much older version of the html documentation.

I think it would be a good idea, to

* either update userman.pdf to correspond to the current html documentation

* or remove the link to the outdated userman.pdf, or at least state somewhere that userman.pdf is outdated

Regards,
Thomas

Thanks for reporting this. Rene, it seems we broke it when boost.org site was upgraded -- the pdf manual
is simply not synced any more. I've changed the nightly build script to put it with the packages,
at

        http://zigzag.lvk.cs.msu.su/~ghost/boost_build_nightly/

and the file is already present there. Can you adjust the website to grab userman.pdf?

Thanks,
Volodya

I know this has been rehashed on the list before, but I still do not
get it... what documentation versions are available on the web site?

   - the official release versions
   - the nightly build based on the current release branch
   - the nightly build based on the current development branch
   - all of the above?

And I am interested in Boost Jam and Boost Build documentation only
here. I know that other 'Boost library' documentation is release based
and the current development/release branch documentation is not
available on the web site.

   Best regards,
     Jurko Gospodnetić

P.S.
My suggestion would be to make all versions available - released ones
+ current release branch + current development branch but that is a
different story... right now I would just like to know how its organized
at the moment. :-)

This one, I think. Historically, trunk docs tend to be strictly better than
any other version.
